Iwaki MDM NP Magnetic drive centrifugal pumps
MDM standard pumps for large-scale chemical processes

Features of
IWAKI MDM NP centrifugal pumps

The wetted parts of the MDM series are made exclusively of high-quality fluoroplastics. Pure PFA and CFRETFE are the standard materials of construction. The MDM Series features a unique non-contact mechanism that significantly improves dry running characteristics and pump life. Applications range from pumping acids and alkalis to high purity chemicals for semiconductor manufacturing.

These pumps are subject to legal export restrictions for safety reasons.
For this reason, Iwaki will not submit a quotation without a correctly completed End-Use Statement

MDM standard pumps with excellent durability

The plastic parts are completely encased in a moulded casting. Due to the high load to which the rear housing is subjected, it is supported by an additional fibre-reinforced housing cover. This gives the pump excellent stability without affecting the magnetic field in any way. Should contact with the magnetic capsule occur, sparking is impossible and a high safety standard can be guaranteed.

Extendable construction

In the case of the base type, the construction, which can be pulled out to the rear, allows internal parts to be checked and replaced without disconnecting the pipework. The simple modular design allows for easy maintenance and minimum downtime. Most service activities can be carried out without leakage.

Improved dry running properties due to non-contact mechanism

The wetted parts of the MDM series are made exclusively of high-quality fluoroplastics. Pure PFA and CFRETFE are the standard materials of construction. Applications range from pumping acids and alkalis to high purity chemicals for semiconductor manufacturing.

The MDM series has a unique non-contact mechanism that significantly improves dry running characteristics and pump life (Non-Contact System) (PAT.) The high magnetic force of rare earth magnets prevents contact between the magnet capsule and the rear casing thrust ring. This prevents melting of the fluoroplastic parts through heat generation. This considerably improves the dry running properties compared to conventional plastic centrifugal pumps.

Remark:
Only the CF version, with high-density carbon bearings, can withstand dry running. Dry running is not possible with the KK design, SiC bearings.

Two construction materials available ETFE and PFA as standard

Carbon fiber reinforced ETFE (CFR-ETFE) and PFA components can cover most applications. PFA as a pure, unfilled material does not cause any contamination and is therefore ideal for conveying high purity chemicals. Various mounting configurations allow it to handle aggressive and high purity applications.

Notes: Standard pump design is only available in PFA.

Excellent, durable constructionThe plastic parts are completely encased in a moulded casting. Due to the high stress to which the rear casing is subjected, this is supported by an additional fibre-reinforced casing cover. This gives the pump excellent stability without affecting the magnetic field.

Should contact occur with the magnetic capsule, sparking is excluded and a high safety standard can be guaranteed. Rear-extendable system:
The rear-extendable design allows  inspection and replacement of internal parts without having to disconnect the piping. The simplified, modular design of the pump allows for the easiest maintenance with minimal downtime. Most service activities can thus be carried out without leakage. (Only possible for pumps with base plate.
