IWAKI MDE magnet drive centrifugal pump

Metal-free process pumps for large-scale chemical processes

Features of the Iwaki MDE
Magnetic drive centrifugal pump series

The Iwaki MDE centrifugal pumps are reinforced with a metal core, which reduces vibration and extends durability at a higher load capacity of the housing of max. 16 bar. With flow rates of 240 m³/h and a maximum head of over 55 m, Iwaki's MDE process pumps are ideal for large-scale chemical applications. When selecting the components in contact with the medium, Iwaki uses the latest fluoroplastics and pure ceramics for optimum resistance to chemicals.

These pumps are subject to legal export restrictions for safety reasons.

Chemical process pump with back pull-out construction

The rear-extendable design allows inspection and replacement of internal parts without disconnecting the piping. The simplified modular design allows for easy maintenance and minimal downtime. Bushing and sleeve replacement can be done separately.
Highest possible corrosive resistance
Fluoroplastics and pure ceramics are used as material for the wetted parts. This allows the safe conveyance of strong acids and alkalis as well as all chemical solvents.

The MDM Iwaki pump series ensures excellent durability

The outer housing is reinforced with die-cast components. Due to the high load on the rear housing, a fibre-reinforced plastic cover is used. In addition, the effect of the rotating magnetic field is reduced for higher strength. The magnet capsule is reinforced with a metal core to achieve higher resistance to vibration.
Complies with ISO standards
Standard performance, dimensions and other parameters of the pumps comply with international standards (ISO2858, 3661, 5199).  This enables easy replacement of other standard pumps.
2 Rear casing
The bottom of the housing is specially shaped to avoid concentrated material stress. In addition, the housing is supported by an FRP cover to ensure maximum compressive strength. Furthermore, this eddy current free design avoids sparking should contact with the drive magnet occur.
3 Impeller
A metal reinforcement is integrated into the impeller. This results in high mechanical strength and an increase in hydraulic efficiency.
4 Split tile
It consists of a ductile cast steel rim with a moulded fluoroplastic middle section. The robust construction supports the rotor unit in particular. In addition, the split disk has special backflow openings which cause a forced circulation of the medium. This considerably improves bearing cooling and lubrication as well as the flushing of solids. (Pat. No. 2116798)
5 Magnet capsule
The metal shaft and rare earth magnet are hermetically sealed in fluoroplastic. The powerful magnet has excellent temperature resistance and thus ensures extremely stable transmission of the motor torque.
6 Bearing / 7 Bushing
These parts are made of SIC to guarantee maximum wear resistance, notch toughness and heat resistance. The adapted bushing system allows easy and inexpensive maintenance or replacement of the parts.
